Privacy policy
Last updated: 21 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information Goodword collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It is written to meet our obligations under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

- Trading name: Goodword
- Registered entity: [TO CONFIRM — registered company name and registration number, or state that the business is a sole proprietor]
- Information Officer: [TO CONFIRM — name of the person responsible. Under POPIA this defaults to the head of the business unless someone else is designated and registered with the Information Regulator.]
- Email: nfccards@ldindustries.co.za
- Address: [TO CONFIRM — physical business address]
What we collect
Information you give us when you order
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your delivery address
- Your business name
- The review page link you want your card to open
- Any notes you add to your order
The review page link and business name are used to prepare and fulfil your order. They are stored with your order record. Please do not put personal information you would rather not share into a free-text notes field.
Payment information
We do not see or store your full card number. Payments are processed by Shopify and the payment providers enabled on this store. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the last digits and card type shown on your order.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this store records technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the site you arrived from. This is used to keep the store working, to detect fraud, and to understand which pages are useful.
Marketing
If you choose to subscribe, we use your email address to send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message, or by emailing us.
Why we may process your information
- To perform our contract with you — taking payment, preparing your cards, delivering your order and handling returns.
- To meet legal obligations — tax and accounting records.
- For our legitimate interests — preventing fraud, securing the store, and improving the products and the site.
- With your consent — marketing emails, where you have opted in.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with parties who need it to help us run the store:
- Shopify, which hosts this store and processes orders
- Payment providers enabled at checkout
- Delivery partners, who receive the name, address and phone number needed to deliver your order
- Professional advisers and authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information
We do not sell your personal information.
Information sent outside South Africa
Shopify and some of our service providers store and process information on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, we rely on section 72 of POPIA, which permits a transfer where the recipient is subject to laws or binding agreements that provide broadly similar protection to POPIA.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as we are required to keep them for tax and accounting purposes, which in South Africa is generally five years. Marketing subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Other information is kept only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- ask what personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date or unlawfully obtained
- object to us processing your information in certain circumstances
- withdraw consent to marketing at any time
- complain to us, and to the Information Regulator
To exercise any of these, email nfccards@ldindustries.co.za. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa). Their contact details are published at inforegulator.org.za.
Cookies
This store uses cookies to keep your cart working, to remember your preferences, and to measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the store — including the cart and checkout — may stop working if you do.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information. No website can promise perfect security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
